THE QUIETRIDE™ TIGHTENING BALL MOUNT WITH LOCK STOPS THE CLANK
Patented “wedge” design eliminates the annoying sound made while towing
BELLINGHAM, WA ( July 10, 2007 ) -- Softride, the innovator of hitch mounted bike racks and noise-reducing towing products, has released the patented QuietRide™ Tightening Ball Mount with lock to eliminate the annoying clank that occurs while towing.
“The QuietRide™ Ball Mounts were designed to eliminate the annoying clank,” says Ryan Allsop, co-president of Softride. “Our ball mounts fit any two-inch receiver and will create a secure, sound dampening connection between your vehicle and trailer.”
The QuietRide™ Tightening Ball Mount has two critical components that work together to ensure you have the safest and quietest ride possible. A threaded stainless steel hitch pin tightens securely to an internal nut fixed to the inside of the ball mount’s inner wall.
“The magic lies in the way the ball mount is pulled into the corner of the receiver tubing by the tightening action of the “gold wedge” and pin,” says co-president Jim Allsop. “This three dimensional cinching eliminates all of the forward, back and side to side movement that causes that annoying clanking sound.”
By filling the gap and applying downward pressure between the inner walls of the receiver hitch and the angled surface of the ball mount, the attachment assembly is forced into full contact with the bottom inner surface of the receiver. This ensures that all gaps around the ball mount are absorbed giving you the smoothest ride around. Complete with a solid brass lock, QuietRide™ ball mounts are made with rugged powder coated steel and are available in 2”, 4” and 6” drops.
